Mrs. Jill Lang KINDERGARTEN TEACHER Mrs. Jill Lang joins Christian Academy with 13 years of teaching experience and has taught at Forestbrook Elementary and the First Presbyterian Growing Tree. She graduated from University of South Carolina at Coastal Carolina with a BA in Early Childhood Education. She has been involved with Christian Academy since 1997 as a member of the Education Committee, PTF (past vice-president, current treasurer) desk volunteer, and several other areas of blessing. She has been married to Jamie for 22 years, and has two sons attending Christian Academy. Jay is a senior and Joshua is a sixth grader. She is a member of Myrtle Beach Community Church where she has worked in the children's ministry for many years. She enjoys attending her sons' sports events (basketball and soccer) and her hobbies include cooking, reading, crafts, knitting and working in her yard.

Mrs. Karen Buckner First Grade Assistant Having 10 years teaching experience in preschool and substituting, she joined the CA faculty 5 years ago and as time allows is completing her degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Buckner has 3 children. Adam, Blair and Meribeth. Blair is a graduate of Christian Academy, and Meribeth is a Freshman at CA. Mrs. Harriett Wood Rogers FIRST GRADE TEACHER Mrs. Rogers began her teaching career fifteen years ago. She joined the Christian Academy faculty five years ago and has a degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina at Coastal Carolina. Mrs. Rogers and her husband Darryl have two sons, a daughter and six granddaughters. Her hobbies include scrap booking and reading. She and her husband are members of Garden City Baptist Church. Ms. Linda Caldwell THIRD GRADE TEACHER Ms. Caldwell begins her sixth year teaching third grade at Christian Academy. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education from Coastal Carolina University and has six years teaching experience. She has a grown son and daughter and five precious grandsons. Ms. Caldwell's life verse is "Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him," Col 3:17. Mrs. Penny Scalf FOURTH GRADE TEACHER Mrs. Scalf has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Coastal Carolina University and five years teaching experience. Mrs. Scalf and her husband are very busy with three children; all three are students at Christian Academy (Justin, 9th grade, Joey, 6th grade and Elizabeth, 1st grade). In her spare time she participates in Bible studies and loves to scrapbook. As a member of Myrtle Beach Community Church she is involved with the Children's Ministry in the Creative Programming Department. Mrs. Scalf always has a smile to share. Mrs. Jennifer Carroll FIFTH GRADE TEACHER Mrs. Carroll earned her bachelor of teaching degree on Elementary Education from University of North Carolina at Wilmington She has eleven years teaching experience and this is her first year on the Christian Academy staff. She and her husband, Graham, are very active with their three children (Lindsey 14, Todd 10, and Garrett 6) who all attend Christian Academy. Jennifer likes to boat, read, and cook when she has time. Mrs. Pitter Caswell SIXTH GRADE BIBLE, LIBRARY AID, TEACHER AID Mrs. Caswell received her BA in Religion and Spanish from Grove City College and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. This is her first year teaching at Christian Academy. Prior to teaching at Christian Academy, she home schooled her five children for ten years and taught classes and tutored within the home school community. Mrs. Caswell and her husband, Bob, have five children (Weston, Jack, Will, Allie, and Luke), four of whom attend Christian Academy. She attends The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection. She enjoys spending time with her family, walking on the beach, and reading.

The Middle and Upper School

Mrs. Nancy Cook 6TH, 7TH AND 8TH GRADE HISTORY; 6TH GRADE SCIENCE; COORDINATOR FOR THE MEDIA CENTER, CHESS CLUB, AND K-5TH CHAPEL Mrs. Cook has a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Bob Jones University and nine of her twenty years teaching experience have been at Christian Academy. She and her husband have two grown children, Nathan 23 and Amy 26. Her hobbies include motorcycle cruising and boating. She loves reading so much she started our Media Center at Christian Academy several years ago. She is active at Surfside Presbyterian Church and has been a recipient of The Golden Apple Award. Mrs. Joy Perry 6TH GRADE MATH, PRE-ALGEBRA AND HONORS GEOMETRY, PRE-CALCULUS, TECHNOLOGY COORDINATOR Mrs. Perry has a BA in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has seventeen of years teaching experience and has been on staff at Christian Academy for nine years. She and husband Paul have two children, Carlton 17 and Brennan 12 who attends Christian Academy in 7th grade. Her favorite activity is horseback riding. She is a member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Laura Broussard 6TH AND 7TH GRADE LATIN, MISSIONS COORDINATOR, STUDENT COUNCIL ADVISOR Mrs. Broussard has a degree in Christian Education and English from Erskine College and this is her third year at Christian Academy. Mrs. Broussard has been married to her husband Keagan since August 2005, and they have a dog, Max. She is a member of Carolina Forest Community Church where she is involved in the Kid's World children's ministry and her small group Bible study. Mrs. Scarlet Waldorf Fowler 6TH AND 7TH GRADE SCIENCE, HONORS ALGEBRA I, HONORS ALGEBRA II Mrs. Fowler is the Lead High School teacher. She attended the College of Charleston and received her BS degree in Computer Science and Secondary Certification in Mathematics from Coastal Carolina University. She has fourteen years experience and has spent the last nine years at Christian Academy. She attends Trinity United Methodist Church where her husband, Andy, is the Music Director. Mrs. Fowler is a member of the church choir and hand bell group. She also serves on the Board and is a member of the Carolina Master Chorale. She and Andy have five children, Nathan, Gwyn, Tiffany, Austin and Dalton. Mrs. Mica Pruitt HONORS WORLD HISTORY, HONORS EUROPEAN HISTORY, AP UNITED STATES HISTORY, BIBLE Mrs. Pruitt received her BA in History and a Master of Arts in Teaching with Certification in Social Studies from Coastal Carolina University. Mrs. Pruitt has been associated with Christian Academy since its inception as a parent and as a school board member. She currently teaches the evening women's Bible Study Fellowship class. Mica and her husband Wayne have three children - Hap (married to Natalie), Mikey, and Katey. Activities in her church, Surfside Baptist, include working on the Personnel Committee and chairing the Constitution and By-Laws Committee. Mica enjoys reading and spending time with Wayne. Mrs. Lea Ann Williams 6th-7th Language Arts, 9th Journalism, 11th12th Psychology, and Middle School Computer Mrs. Williams graduated from Francis Marion University with a degree in English and a Minor in Mass Communication, and has completed several Masters level classes at the University of New Orleans. This is her second year teaching at Christian Academy. Mrs. Williams has been an active Christian Academy parent as she is currently serving on Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) as secretary after serving the past two years as President. She has been married to her husband, Paul for fourteen years and has two boys attending Christian Academy (Stephen in 5th grade and Jacob in 3rd grade.) Mr. Sean Richardson Honors Physics, Honors Marine Science, Honors Biology and 8th grade Physical Science Mr. Richardson teaches Honors Physics, Honors Marine Science, Honors Biology and 8th grade Physical Science. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Science and a minor in Physics from Coastal Carolina University. This is his second year at Christian Academy. Mr. Richardson has 2 years teaching experience at Barrier Island Environmental Education Center, located at Camp St. Christopher on Seabrook Island. In his free time he enjoys surfing, scuba diving, fishing and golf. He worships at The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Surfside and volunteers with the youth group. Mrs. Julia Boatwright SPANISH I, SPANISH II, SPANISH III Mrs. Boatwright has a BA in Spanish and French from the College of Charleston, and is very fluent in Spanish, having been raised as a missionary kid in Mexico. This is Mrs. Boatwright's second year teaching at Christian Academy, but has been an active volunteer at the school for many years. She and her husband, Steve, have two children. Mrs. Boatwright stays busy going to the gym, working in her yard and watching her children participate in sports. She volunteers for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, has completed the seven year BSF Bible Study class, and has traveled with the Missions Team to Haiti and Mexico as a member of Myrtle Beach Community Church. Mr. Benjamin Coy K - 8TH GRADE PHYSICAL EDUCATION, 6TH AND 7TH GRADE BIBLE, UPPER SCHOOL CHAPEL COORDINATOR Mr. Coy has a degree in Educational Ministries from Houghton College in New York State. This is his second year teaching at Christian Academy. He and his wife, Samantha, are the proud new parents of a baby girl, Tessa Ruth Coy, born on August 19, 2006. Mrs. Vicki Marcis K - 8TH GRADE COMPUTER SCIENCE Mrs. Marcis earned a BS degree in Political Science, Summa Cum Laude, from Francis Marion University and a Master of Business Administration from Winthrop University. She has taught Business and Economics at Horry-Georgetown Technical College and Coastal Carolina University since earning her graduate degree. She also has a critical needs letter of eligibility from the SC Department of Education to teach Business Education, Computer Technology and Marketing. She is a member of West Hartsville Baptist Church and lives by John 8:12, "Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." The Administrative Team

Mr. Marty Williams Principal Mr. Marty Williams grew up in Myrtle Beach and has been a part of the education community in Myrtle Beach for the past twenty-five years. He earned a masters degree in secondary education from the University of South Carolina and his undergraduate degree from University of South Carolina/Coastal in Physical Education. He has been the head football coach at Myrtle Beach High School and an Assistant Coach at Socastee High School. He is active in his church and has served as a Sunday School teacher, AWANA leader, and a small group leader for high school students. He has been an active member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and led a Good News Club at St. James Elementary School. He and Rita, his wife of 18 years, have two daughters. Mr. Williams enjoys spending time with his family and cardio/strength training.

Mrs. Nancy Henry Lead Administrator Nancy is a 1985 graduate of Wake Forest University with a B.A. in Primary and Elementary Education. She received her Master of Education degree from University of South Carolina in 1992 in Educational Leadership and Administration. Nancy has been involved with Christian Academy since 1995 and has served two different terms as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Education Committee for the school. She has served on the Personnel Committee and the Admissions Committee, as well as working with various other ad hoc committees and projects at the school. Her teaching experience also includes work at Myrtle Beach Primary School and with the Spadoni College of Education at Coastal Carolina University. Nancy enjoyed serving for many years in the Children’s Ministry at Myrtle Beach Community Church. Nancy is married to Patrick and they have two boys who attend Christian Academy. Patrick Charles (PC) is a junior and Kendall is in the seventh grade. She is an avid Demon Deacon fan and enjoys almost any sporting event, including playing tennis, when time allows. Mrs. Kristi Gallimore OFFICE MANAGER Mrs. Gallimore has a BA in French from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. She and her husband, Chad, have been married for twelve years. They have a daughter, Haleigh, in fifth grade at Christian Academy. She was the Admissions Director at Carolina Classical School for three and a half years prior to moving to Myrtle Beach a year ago. Mrs. Gallimore and her family attend Carolina Forest Community Church. She enjoys spending time with her family (including the three dogs), going to the beach, and coffee. She was part of the Christian Academy Board of Trustees for five years and joined the Christian Academy staff two years ago.
